Southeast's Got Talent

Thursday 6:00 pm, Main Stage

Sing! Dance! Juggle!  Make bird calls!  Whatever it is that is your special talent, come show it off for the judges and the Fair!  Winners in the adult and youth divisions qualify for the Alaska’s Got Talent Competition Finals in Palmer in September.

Open and read the rules and regulations, then submit your entry via the downloadable PDF entry form attached to the rules and regulations, or through our office.

All entrants have a TOTAL of 5 minutes for both set up and take down of their act. 

***Maximum 14 total contestants***

Deadline to enter is 4 pm Thursday, July 25. $10 entry fee is due before competition.

 

 

Singer/Songwriter Competition

Friday 1:00 pm, Park Stage

Country or pop, gospel or folk, bluegrass or blues.  Bring your original song and perform it for a panel of judges and compete against other songwriters from the region.  Winner plays on the Main Stage on Friday.

The Fishermen's Rodeo

Friday 3 pm, Dalton City

Calling all fishermen to the Fair’s 11th annual Fishermen’s Rodeo!  Come test your net mending, gear baiting, survival suit donning, and more!  Cash prizes for the winners.  Register at the Fair Info Booth or the Start of the Event.

Wearable Art Review

Friday 6:00 pm, Main Stage

Hand-crafted, one-of-a-kind art made for the human body! Designs from artists all over Southeast Alaska and the Yukon take to our runway for this fun and fabulous event.

Grand Parade

Saturday 11:00 am, Downtown Haines

Come down to Main Street in Haines Saturday morning to watch the grand parade!  Parade muster at Thor’s Fitness on Main Street at 10:30 am.  Many float divisions to enter with ribbons for the best entries.  This year’s theme is Singin’ in the Rain

Most Loveable Dog Contest

Bring your leashed canine pal to Thor’s Fitness for registration in the 23rd annual Most Lovable Dog Contest.  Show off your dog in the parade, then head to Tlingit Park for prizes!  Finalists judges at 1:30 pm on the Fair’s Main Stage.  Sponsored by Haines Animal Rescue Kennel & Dr. Elizabeth Wolfe

Guy Hoffman Memorial Horseshoe Contest

Saturday 12:00 pm, Klondike Saloon

Come try your luck at the tournament of horseshoes.  Cash prizes for winners.  $5 entry fee.  Sign up at the Klondike Saloon.  Sponsored by Mountain Market, Fogcutter Bar, & Haines Brewing Company

The Fiddle Contest

Saturday 1:00 pm, Park Stage

Bring your favorite fiddle (or violin) and join in the fun.  Stomp your feet and clap your hands and get ready for a good time!  Winner plays on the Main Stage.  Sponsored by Constantine Mining, LLC.

The Logging Show

Saturday 1:00 pm, Logging Arena

A Fair Tradition: test your meddle at the skills that make a first class logger.  Events for both guys and gals.  Sharpen that axe for axe-throwing, and fine tune your favorite saw for bucking competitions.  Sponsored by Haines Uglys, S&S Aggregate, Whiterock, LLC, Canal Marine, & Lynn View Lodge

Fair Disc Golf Tournament

Sunday 11:00 am with registration at 10:30 am, Harriett Hall

Calling all disc golfers!  Try your hand on our new expanded course! Register at the start of the event; registration fee includes Day entry into the Fair. 

The Volleyball tournament

Sunday 12:00 pm, Klondike Saloon

Fun and friendly volleyball tournament for all ages – children encouraged.  Gather your friends, put together a team and come test your skills on the court!  Dust off those spiking skills and join in for a fun tournament.  Sign up at the Info Booth or the start of the event.  $10/team, winning team takes the pot!
