Wearable Art Review

Friday, July 26, 6:00 pm at the Main Stage

Wearable Art

at the Southeast Alaska State Fair

Here’s how it works:

  1. Build your creation – using everyday objects, unexpected objects, reused and upcycled objects – and make your statement!
  2. Choose a piece of music to play while you walk, and write a short description for your piece.
  3. Register below no later than 5 pm, Tuesday July 23. (this allows the Fair staff to curate the show)  ***if entering your piece in the Wearable Art department of Exhibits, go here to enter you will still be able to take part in the Wearable Art Review***
  4. Bring your piece (and your model, if using someone other than yourself) to Harriett Hall at 4:30 pm Friday to prepare.
  5. Find Emma (the lady with a baby and a mission) or Amanda (the red head with the clipboard) outside of Harriett Hall on the lawn side for a quick planning session before going inside to gear up.
  6. You will be told the order you are walking in, and you have 2 minutes or less. Have fun with your walk! Express the feeling your piece is meant to convey!
  7. After everyone has walked, all will then walk onto the runway for a mass walk and photo op before returning to Harriett Hall to remove costumes.
  8. If you wish at this time, we would love to display your piece in the Hall with the other Wearable Art pieces. Otherwise, you can take it home with you.
