Celebrating the New Year
The year of our Salmon Enchanted Evening is coming to a close, but our Crafter’s Halls aren’t going anywhere!

The support we’ve received since our humble beginnings in September has been so exciting to see. We are so grateful to every person that stepped through our doors ready to welcome something new, and it has been an honor to provide our community a warm, friendly space to learn and create.

As we reflect on what these gatherings have meant to us, it’s become very clear that what Haines needs most is not just fun events, but a community center. Our quiet little town can sometimes go too quiet, and we all could use more life and light in these winter months.

And so, not only are we making plans for new Crafter’s Halls, but we’re also looking to the talented creators of Haines who have wanted to host events of their own.

To those who have been wanting to share their craft, we extend an invite to you to host your own Crafter’s Hall, inspiring others to contribute to our Exhibits program this summer.

Every day we strive to encourage community and cultural exchange, and who could do it better than our lovely Hainsiacs?

Our Mission

Like the rest of our community, we at the Fair can’t help but slow down during the cold, dark winter months.  The excitement of the fair and seeing the Exhibits Hall full has gone into hibernation, and now we want more excitement for the artistic side of Haines. That’s why we’re bringing more light and fun with every exhibits Crafters’ Hall. Whether you’re a master of your craft, want to learn new skills, or just want an excuse to dig yourself out of your house, the fair is here for you!

These Crafters’ days are dedicated to educating and boosting excitement for our Harriett Hall Exhibits department. Every month will have a new Department to focus on, and more excitement to come with it. Information on department guidelines and how to enter your work next spring and summer will be provided, and staff will be available to answer any questions.
