What it means to be a Town Representative
Town Representatives are members of communities all across Southeast and into the Yukon. They get to spread the excitement of the Exhibits Department and assist their community members in transporting works of art to our Southeast State Fair.
Town Representatives allow the Fair to embody the true core of our mission statement; to bring culture and learning to all of the panhandle, strengthening our sense of community.
Benefits of being a town representative
All Town Reps are given a 4 day pass to the Fair, should they choose to attend, as well as a personalized swag bag!
Town Reps are also offered the following;
- Business banner hung in Harriett Hall for all 4 days of the Fair
- 30” x 75” panel space to display business/town promotional materials
- Business name mentioned by the Main Stage MC at least 2 times per day
- Business name & logo on Fair poster, Exhibits poster, and Fair website
- Business name in post-Fair recognition paid advertising
Town Representative Operations
During the spring and early summer, Town Reps get the privilege of spreading the Exhibits joy. They put up posters, spread the word by mouth, and are encouraged to join in community events to get their participators excited and thinking about the Fair.
As the summer months bring us closer and closer to Fair time, Town Reps organize the collection and (free) shipping of entries to Haines, as well as help exhibitors enter their items on Fair Entry.
Once we’ve wrapped up another successful Fair, all exhibits are returned to their communities and Town Reps assist in getting them back home.

What it means to be a Superintendent
With our Superintendent’s help, the Exhibit’s Department is able to grow and thrive, letting Harriett Hall get more beautiful with each year.
A Superintendent is the manager of one or more Departments (i.e. Crops & Veggies, Jewelry, Photography) and is able and encouraged to make changes to that Department. When it comes time for judging, Superintendents organize and oversee the evaluation of exhibits.
Benefits of being a superintendent
Superintendents are given an Individual All-Access Membership, among many things allowing them to join the 4 days of Fair fun, free of charge.
In addition, superintendents are given exclusive 30″ x 75″ advertising space in Harriett Hall to display their creations, contact info and their exploits outside of the Fair.
We encourage small businesses and content creators to use this board as their outreach to the public!
Superintendent Operations
As you may have guessed, Superintendents are most active during the Fair Season in May through July. This is when we start organizing meetings, push for outreach, and help each other look for judges.
With a successful fair under their belt, Superintendents meet again in the fall to discuss what went well, what needs to change, and what we can do next year to get even more people excited about their craft.
Then, once we’re all satisfied, Superintendents can adventure during the winter and are happily welcomed back in the spring to shine with the Fair.
